I wanted something quick and easy and a little sweet for a morning breakfast/snack/brunch today so I tried a little play on monkey bread.
First, arrange packaged biscuit dough on greased pan and preheat oven to 350. Next, spread a little honey butter on top of each biscuit.
I got my honey butter at the farmer’s market but you can easily make your own. This stuff is like liquid gold . . .
Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar and bake for 10-15 minutes.
As you can see from the top picture my son thought we should add frosting. It was actually a good idea. The whole idea behind monkey bread is the pull-apart fun and that is why I named this deconstructed. They were okay but not as good as regular ol’ monkey bread. So I think for next time if I decide to make this version (which I will since it has far less sugar in it this way) I would still bake them all together, on top of each other, so that they stay a little warmer and can be pulled apart.
