Happy Month of Halloween!

Today is my son’s third birthday and yesterday he had the idea of  “taking snacks to friends at school”. Since he isn’t a natural sharer I wanted to encourage this random act of kindness so we went and looked at goodies. The Halloween stuff has been out already for a few weeks but finally I couldn’t resist. It’s my favorite holiday of the year, ever since I was a kid. It’s pretty much a month-long celebration for us so what better day to start than on the first!

We got lucky and found a package of round orange tulle pieces at the thrift shop for .50 cents! Woo hoo! I was so cheap I just took a black marker to some twist ties and called it good. Andrew filled up his “pumpkins”:

So the treats are for school, and then the cake tonight. . . *sigh* WAAAY too much sugar for the little guy.

But he’s pretty good about what he eats. This morning I told him he could have whatever he wanted (within reason) for breakfast since it was his birthday and he replied, “oatmeal”.
