Make a Rainbow in Your Kitchen

Andrew has been working on his colors. This was a really easy way to show him the colors of the rainbow and also to let him experiment with mixing the colors to see what happens. We used just simple food coloring and empty glass jars. The colors lighting up the kitchen were stunning. Here he is mixing his concoction:

I don’t think any kid can ever get enough art time, and here is a beautiful and simple way to help teach about the colors. Have fun!

    My child (10) STILL loves putting food coloring in water…and adding oil to shake and stir and see how things mix up. Your pictures are so pretty!

    That’s a great idea about the oil! Do you just use any oil or does baby oil work best?
