June 1st Delights!

We had some things ripen and open on the first of June. The first delight was my iris. I bought some of these a few years ago and I really hope they spread. I think they are gorgeous! Next we had some radishes that looked ready to be pulled up . . . but nobody around here is really interested in actually eating them unfortunately so I’m not sure what we’ll do with them.

We also had a few strawberries ripen, but we were lazy about putting the netting over the top of the strawberry patch and today something had gotten to the reddest berry and took a few nibbles.

The lettuce is ready to be eaten. I had a nice salad yesterday for lunch.

Our daisies were one of the first things to bloom.

Hopefully July 1st brings us much more!

Wow, beautiful pictures and nice garden progress. You can take your radishes to Common Cup to give to a family in need (on Main Street). I did that last year, or Steve LOVES radishes. I just bought some for him yesterday. I have lots of day lilies and hastas you are welcome to split and transplant if you need anymore. Thanks for the BBQ sauce by the way. Yummm!

We “donated” some of the radishes to the baby bunnies under our deck but the next batch we harvest we will definitely donate to Steve.
We actually dug up all our day lilies last year. Haven’t got into hostas yet but my dad is addicted to them.
Did you try the sauce? What did you think?
