Labor Day Weekend/How to Skip Rocks

Sunset I

This was the sunset tonight. I’m glad we drove out to the lake. Living in Minnesota I feel like I should say “a lake” since there are so many of them. Saying “the lake” sounds like something I would have said when I was living in Nebraska and there was the one lake that was within driving distance.

Josh thought it would be a good time to try and teach Andrew how to skip rocks.

First you have to find a good flat rock or two.

Then you throw it sideways!

Andrew tried it overhand. Didn’t quite work.

But it made a neat splash.

And there go the geese.  Flying south. So-long summer.

You forgot the best part, after many failed attempts, Andrew really did skip his first rock!

I didn’t know that. I was too busy pacifying Chloe or too far back to hear/see.

You didn’t hear him squeal and clap his hands?

It only skipped once before it sank, but he was thrilled 😀
